This summer break 60 Maasai girls will be given the chance to have HOPE. For the first time ever Faces-4-Hope will be putting on a summer camp to provide protection for the Maasai girls that have been off at secondary school this year; these girls range from the age of 14-20. This means that they have been able to make it past the point in their lives where they will be sold as brides. But does not mean they are safe from the education being ripped from them due to a pregnancy. If they get pregnant on the break they will not be allowed to return to school.
The camp will cost each girl around $10 for 2 weeks! This will include food, housing, teaching, & travel. That is not all we want to be able give these girls. We also want to give each girl necessities for the next quarter in school. These necessities are soap, toothpaste, pens, paper, “female pads”, plus a few treats & gifts. Any extra funds will go to these things or bring more girls to the camp..
The reason this camp is to make this break a time for them to remember as a joyous memory not a miserable nightmare. PLEASE JOIN US in creating a safe haven for the Maasai girls of Engrikati this year by donating to the fees of a girl’s camp. Thank you for joining us!
